A Love Theory

I've been tagged by pinaymama with this meme. Thanks for sharing this theory with me, it's surprising how true it is! My husband and I tried it at once and we were truly amazed! :)

Why should the wedding ring be worn on the fourth finger? There is a beautiful and convincing explanation given by the Chinese.....

* Thumb represents your Parents.
* Second (Index) finger represents your Siblings.
* Middle finger represents your-Self.
* Fourth (Ring) finger represents your Life Partner. & the . . .
* Last (Little) finger represents your children.

Firstly, open your palms (face to face), bend the middle fingers and hold them together - back to back.
Secondly, open and hold the remaining three fingers and the thumb - tip to tip. (As shown in the figure below):
Now, try to separate your thumbs (representing the parents)..., they will open, because your parents are not destined to live with you lifelong, and have to leave you sooner or later. Please join your thumbs as before and separate your Index fingers (representing siblings)...., they will also open, because your brothers and sisters will have their own families and will have to lead their own separate lives.

Now join the Index fingers and separate your Little fingers (representing your children)...., they will open too, because the children also will get married and settle down on their own some day. Finally, join your Little fingers, and try to separate your Ring fingers (representing your spouse). You will be surprised to see that you just CANNOT..... because Husband & Wife have to remain together all their lives - through thick and thin!! Please try this out and pass............. ISN'T THIS A LOVELY THEORY?

Now, I want to share this theory MEME to everyone who reads this. This is so nice to just pick a couple of people from my blogroll. So, if you find this interesting, feel free to grab it! :)

How to Stay Young =)

Got this email message from a friend and thought it would be nice to share it with all my blogging friends. Stay young and happy! =)

The info below is priceless. Enjoy.

HOW TO STAY YOUNG
1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height.
Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay them.

2
. Keep only cheerful friends.
The grouches pull you down. (keep this In mind if you are one of those grouches;)

3. Keep learning:
Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain get idle.
"An idle mind is the devil's workshop." And the devil's name is Alzheimer's!

4. Enjoy the simple things.

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.
And if you have a friend who makes you laugh, spend lots and Lots of time with HIM/HER.

6. The tears happen:
Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person who is with us our entire life, is ourself. LIVE while you are alive.

7. Surround yourself with what you love:
Whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever.
Your home is your refuge.

8. Cherish your health:
If it is good, preserve it.
If it is unstable, improve it.
If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9. Don't take guilt trips.
Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county, to a foreign country, but NOT to where the guilt is.

10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.

And if you don't send this to at least four people - who cares?
But do share this with someone.

Friday the 13th... Unlucky?

Today is Friday the 13th...again. Just last month (February 13, 2009), it fell on a Friday, too. And did you know that this year, there are actually three Friday the 13ths? The third one will come on November. So, does this mean that this year is also three times unlucky?!

Here are some trivia on the number 13:
1. The fear of the number 13 is called Triskaidekaphobia.
2. The fear of Friday the 13th is called Paraskevidekatriaphobia.
3. Many tall buildings omit the 13th floor (and so it follows that elevators also do not have the button for the number 13). Hospitals, as well, do not have room number 13 (if there was, patients would surely wish to NOT be placed in that room, for fear that they might not get well from their sickness!).
4. Numerologists consider 12 to be a complete number, having a number of things by the dozen: 12 months in a year, 12 signs of the zodiac, 12 gods of Olympus, 12 labors of Hercules, 12 tribes of Israel, 12 apostles of Jesus, 12 days of Christmas. So, if 12 is already complete, what do we need 13 for??!

There's a nice article about Friday the 13th in yahoo's news today. Check it out here.

Friday the 13th will come and go, but I hope yours, like mine, wouldn't be unlucky!

Have a great weekend! :)

Beautiful Bridal Bouquets

We recently attended the wedding of my good friend from High School, wherein my daughter was chosen as one of the flower girls. :) It was such a beautiful wedding! Lovely ceremony, fun reception, delicious food, gorgeous bride and groom, and most of all, I fell in love with the flowers (from the bride's bouquet, to the entourage's flowers, to the flower girls' pomanders and head dresses, and even the reception tables' flower arrangements were lovely!). This made me reminisce back to my own wedding and my own bridal bouquet. Just want to share with you these beautiful bouquets I found in the web. Have a lovely day! Do take time out to smell the flowers! =)

This one looks very much like my own bridal bouquet.
White calla lilies from www.landsflowers.com.
This is another flower arrangement for calla lilies.

Here's a classic red roses bouquet.

Another roses bouquet, this time in orange.

Nice combination of roses and tulips.

Colorful arrangement of tulips.

Simple and elegant.

Purple is my favorite color, so I just can't help but notice this one!
