Bisita Iglesia

I learned recently that during Bisita Iglesia, we shouldn't be doing the Stations of the Cross. Stations of the Cross should be said on Fridays, and especially on Good Friday. During Bisita Iglesia, we should just be quiet and try to listen to what God wants to tell us. It was quite difficult to do just that - be quiet and listen. How could I, when there were just so many people around, most in groups doing the Stations of the Cross, or young teens chit-chatting with their barkadas. But I guess I got a message from our recent Bisita Iglesia. I had the opportunity to observe and really see the beauty of each Church we visited... something I don't usually do when we attend Sunday Mass. Even though I've been to all these Churches before, I never really took the time to admire the beautiful structure, paintings, and designs of each one. And now that I've had, I marvel at the intricate details that made each one unique and special. Now I share with you the shots I was able to take of some of these Churches (in Quezon province).

Understanding the meaning of Holy Week

This week marks what can be said as the saddest, and at same time, the greatest moment in Christianity. During Holy Week we remember and reflect on the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Did you know that the Lenten Season begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Thursday evening? On the evening of Holy Thursday, the "Triduum", the great three days of Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday, occur leading to Easter Sunday.

I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to have a better understanding of the meaning of Holy Week from a talk given by Bro. Michael Angelo Lobrin (read more about him here). And because I enjoyed his talk so much (he's such a funny guy, you'll see), I want to share this with you, too. Here is his talk given on April 10, 2011 at The Feast Alabang (just scroll towards the middle part of the video for the portion of Bro. Michael's talk). His songs are very nice, too, and his witty remarks made the talk even more enjoyable (I assure you, you won't be bored!).

So, here's wishing you all a blessed Holy Week, and may we all rejoice in the Lord's Resurrection on Easter Sunday! God bless us all!

Wonderful weekend at Club Balai Isabel

The past weekend was simply lovely. We were at Club Balai Isabel in Batangas with my High School friends. I'll let my photos tell the story of our wonderful weekend. =)
